Attention to our alumni coming from the Western Balkans! Apply to attend the Belgrade Security Conference titled “In defense of humanity” and WEASA workshops to strengthen the engagement between each other! 

What 

We are delighted to announce our Balkan regional alumni meeting in Belgrade on  November 18-20 2024. The aim of the meeting is to strengthen the engagement of WEASA alumni from the Western Balkans and discuss opportunities for better connections. 

At the meantime, attending the Belgrade Security Conference is a perfect chance for obtaining new knowledge of the current geopolitical developments, making your remarks during the debates of the conference and building new networks. 

Why 

The thematic agenda presented for the debate at the Belgrade Security Conference is in perfect line with WEASA themes. Please, take a look at the agenda here. 

Activities 

Two main activities are anticipated for the WEASA Balkan reunion: 

  1. attend the Belgrade Security Conference, 
  1. participate in the WEASA workshops to generate new ideas about alumni initiatives, strengthen the connections between alumni even more and contribute to the content of the next year edition activities. 

Financial support 

With the generous support of our partners from the Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) of the German Marshall Fund of the United States we can sponsor 7 alumni members coming from the Western Balkans with up to 430EUR per person to attend the Belgrade Security Conference and the WEASA workshops. The reimbursement will be done after the meeting upon presentation of all the invoices (transportation, accommodation, meals) to the WEASA Team.
